This 6,200 square foot family home sits on a densely forested two-acre site. A simple interior color palette was developed to frame the greenery of the surrounding pines. Physical materials such as wood siding and radiantly-heated concrete floors continue from the exterior into the home's interior, seamlessly connecting inside and outside spaces. Blackened steel is used as an accent to create a modern look and add warmth to the home's aesthetic. Upstairs, white oak floors and American walnut custom cabinetry complete the modernist aesthetic.

The residence's main level contains an open-plan living and dining space as well as a kitchen, office and junior master suite. The master suite occupies a wing of the second floor with the kids' and guest rooms located in a separate building volume, linked by a glass bridge over the entry hall. An extensive subterranean level includes a playroom, gym, spa, and home bar that opens out to one of the house's outdoor terraces.
