CARNEGIE HALL
Studio Towers Renovation

New York, NY
Completed 2014
Project with Iu+Bibliowicz Architects LLP

The renovation of William Tuthill's historic 1891 concert hall includes a reorganization and repurposing of 167,000 square feet of non-performance space. Updates include the addition of a new music education wing, landscaped roof terrace, new administrative office floors, and an exterior glass elevator to support backstage and education wing functions.

Careful attention is given to the existing architectural building elements both on the interior and on the facade of the hall. The existing steel trusses from the original 1892 mansard roof are exposed and incorporated into the design of the new administrative office space.

The project was awarded LEED Silver Certification.
